What AFTER is all about
"I wrote the book to assist the reader in recognizing the myriad feelings that arise and embracing them instead of burying or dismissing them. This book may also help guide those folks who are not necessarily on the grief road, but maybe the sidewalks as support onlookers.
I am simply a mom who has traversed the most painful event possible, with good moments, dark moments, and many in-between. I have learned abundant, valuable lessons throughout this journey and wanted to share them".

Who should read AFTER?

VICTIMS
OF LOSS
During the grief journey, there are moments which defy understanding. They may be helpful or hurtful. It's important for the griever to gain perspective behind what is happening and decide how best to maneuver the painful journey which is best for them as individuals. Just trying to answer the simple question of "is this normal?" can be helpful. This book shares common experiences and provides a perspective to consider -- not only for the griever but those around them.

SUPPORTIVE BYSTANDERS FOR THOSE THAT GRIEVE
What is the right thing to say or do? Are there tips towards comforting your loved one? What are the red flags to acknowledge? This book outlines what might be at play behind the curtains. It provides the reader tools to consider and try.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS
How can community groups support a coworker, a friend, a neighbor? What is the best strategy for helping one who might be grieving. Why do we not give grief a voice? Why is it a tabu subject to address when someone loses another? We all experience loss so why not bring it into the light and acknowledge the reality of the pain felt on the journey towards the new normal?
